GET TO KNOW ME

Profile_edited_edited_edited.jpg

I see my clients in their entirety; body, mind and soul. I come to understand my clients through their own eyes, not by looking back into the past but by bringing the past into the present. I work with clients to raise their self-awareness so they can begin to understand how their own emotional and physical self are connected and how they relate to themselves and others.

I offer a very present and authentic approach, with genuine support and care. I like to build strong and trustworthy relationships with my clients, that in turn provides a safe and secure time and space.

Who I work with:

When I am not in private practice I work in a women's support centre where I work as a counsellor and also manage the counselling department.

I mainly choose to offer long term therapy with those who have experienced significant trauma. However I can also work short-term too on a diverse range of issues.

I currently only work with adults.

Training:

I have a Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Counselling, from University of Greenwich. My core qualifications are accredited by British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am a full member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within its ethical framework.

Approach:

I am a humanistic counsellor. I mainly offer Gestalt therapy, which is a client-centred approach. Instead of simply talking about past situations, I encourage clients to experience them. This way of working helps clients learn how to become more aware of themselves and their patterns of behaviour that are blocking true self-awareness and causing them to feel stuck and unhappy.

(Fritz Perls, 1969)

I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.
If not, it can't be helped.
